End of Summer 2011
Before Ethan started JK, we ended summer with a trip to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) and the Fantasy Fair. At the CNE, Ethan and mom watched a figure skating show while Joanna had her afternoon nap. Ethan particularly enjoyed the show as he says ice skating is one of his favorite things to do. At the beginning of September, we went to the Markham children festival where Joanna and Ethan enjoyed a number of adventures. Ethan didn't seem to mind being surrounded by goats. He also enjoyed climbing up and sliding down those giant inflatable slides. Joanna, on the other hand, was a little intimidated by the animals and plays. She rather stuck to the familiar slides and sandbox. We also celebrated grandma's birthday and enjoyed a french-styled birthday cake!

Our Summer Continues
We continue to enjoy the warm summer of 2011. We stumble upon the Markham Rib Festival one Sunday afternoon. The grown ups enjoyed some delicious ribs while the kids enjoyed/shared an ice cold popsicle. Joanna and Ethan frequent nearby playground during weekends. Joanna spends most of her time on the swing while Ethan splits his time climbing up the slide and paddling his bicycle. During the August long weekend, we paid a visit to the African Lion Safari near Hamilton, Ontario. Joanna was not too fond of the idea of having animals (like lions) roaming around our cars. We spent the afternoon on a train, a boat, and Ethan even rode a pony for the first time !

June 2011
We started summer with a boat trip along the harbor front of Toronto. Joanna and Ethan have fond memories of our cruise trip a year ago and have been longing to get on a boat again. A year ago Joanna was just starting to stand up. Now, she is walking up and down the stairs on the boat with our help. Ethan still enjoys sitting by the window and watching the waves. We then spent Canada Day at the Ontario Place. Ethan enjoyed various rides, a cotton candy, and a popsicle. Joanna and Ethan both soaked in plenty of new and interesting sightings. Ethan just moves from his "Busy Bee" class to "Teddy Bear". We must admit Ethan is enjoying school very much. He loves going to school and the teachers show him plenty of love. He is also making some good friends too. He was invited to a Pizza Party and had a great afternoon making pizzas with his buddies.

We are back!
Well, we are back ... hopefully, for good. We'll try to post monthly. You'll be amazed to see how much Joanna and Ethan have grown. They play together more often but also fight more often. We don't take peace for granted. This should be an interesting summer.
